Sleeping Beauty 65th Anniversary by Dooney & Bourke

The Sleeping Beauty 65th Anniversary Collection by Disney Dooney & Bourke was released on Disney Store on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Celebrate the 65th anniversary of the release of Disney’s classic animated film Sleeping Beauty with this new collection by Disney Dooney and Bourke.

Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, released in 1959, is a based on the fairy tale. Princess Aurora is cursed by the wicked fairy Maleficent to die on her sixteenth birthday after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel. However, the good fairy Merryweather alters the curse, and instead, Aurora falls into a deep sleep until awakened by true love’s kiss. The charming Prince Phillip battles Maleficent in dragon form to break the curse and awaken Aurora, concluding the fairy-tale narrative with a happily ever after. 

Even after 65 years, the film is widely adored for its timeless charm and enchanting storytelling. The film captivates audiences with its magical world, iconic characters like Aurora and Maleficent, and the breathtaking animation. The enchanting romance, memorable music, and fairy-tale atmosphere create a captivating experience that continues to resonate with generations, fostering a deep love for the classic animation.

The collection includes three different silhouettes with two different designs. The tote bag features a scene on the front of Briar Rose with her woodland friends, including owl, rabbit and birds against a pink background. Roses and leaves also adorn the pattern, while a crossbody bag and wristlet wallet features an allover print of Briar Rose, rabbit, owl, birds and roses. 

The handbags feature beige leather finishings with red edging. Additionally, the tote and crossbody bags include a removable leather hangtag in the shape of a rose.
